Your comfort, relaxation, pleasure and joy are our goals.
The Whitetail Acres Victorian was built in 1900 by Charles Peckham. He homesteaded the land in 1871. Experience the Victorian Era when you step inside and see the hand crafted decorative woodwork throughout the house, including the u-shaped open staircase and the original stained glass windows. The farm was owned by the Schoonover Family from 1929 to 1997. There are presently 120 acres to roam and enjoy the woods and creek, many birds, deer, pheasant, and turkey. Enjoy the quietness of the country.
The farm has a large old barn to admire, built in 1892. There are few old barns left. We hope to preserve it and plan on future means of conservation.
Come to relax, using the upstairs deck or one of the 2 patios to read and relax. Enjoy the many shade trees, lawn, flowers and garden setting.
A pre-arranged tour of buffalo can be included in your stay. This tour is at the nearby Indian Creek Bison Ranch. See and learn about these large animals that were so much a part of the early West. Get a close up look and feed them.
Whether you're planning a business trip, honeymoon, or just a fun "escape" to relax and enjoy life, Whitetail Acres is at your service.
